World War I in Pictures, and a Short Text Update

Firstly, I should apologise for my long absence. I realise it has been far too long since this blog has been updated, but I would like to offer my excuse: as you may have read in my ‘About Me‘ page, I am currently finishing my undergraduate studies, with only half a month to go. Which means, of course, I’ve spent the last few weeks (or, rather, months) living in the archives and libraries, fluctuating between revision for my finals and work on my dissertation. As anyone who has done a dissertation in the past knows, it is a time consuming and at times stressful task, and has not left me with much extra time to update this blog.

HOWEVER, I have just recently completed my dissertation, and have only three exams left to complete. Which means I have found the time to write a new essay – this time on the autobiographical writing of Victorian scientists. If all goes to plan, I will be able to upload that essay on to the blog within the next week or two.

In the meantime, to keep you entertained, I would like to share this incredible blog page showing us some of World War I’s most fascinating technology in a series of mind-blowing photographs. The blog is wonderfully laid out – definitely worth checking out.

Lastly, good luck to all those friends (and strangers, of course!) currently going through their GCSE/A Level/Degree exams!
